It is the spoon for the finer spoon dishes: consommés, clear broths, light creamed soups and soups served in a cup or a deep plate. On a formal table it goes to the right of the plate, next to the knife, so that it is the first piece used when soup opens the menu. Thanks to its dark finish, it looks best on white or light tableware and plain linen, where the spoon becomes a visible detail without overloading the table. Since it is sold in a pack of 12, count one spoon per guest: one pack covers up to 12 guests and, if there are fewer of you, the rest are spares; dessert spoons are counted separately.
Rinse the spoon soon after serving, especially if it has been in contact with salty or acidic broths, and dry it with a soft cloth to avoid water marks. To preserve the dark finish, the safest approach is to wash it by hand in lukewarm water with neutral soap and a soft sponge. Avoid abrasive scourers, bleach and long soaking, which wear down the finish of any stainless steel. Lacor does not detail how the dark colour is achieved, so treat it with the same care as a delicate piece.
