Paella gas burners

Active filters

A gas paella burner is a circular burner with one or more rings that spreads the heat evenly across the whole base of the paella pan, essential for the rice to cook evenly. In this category you'll find paella burners for butane, propane and natural gas from Garcima — world leader in paella burners, with more than 70 years' manufacturing in Valencia — and Flames VLC, also made in Valencia, plus all the accessories: legs, tripods, modular windbreaks, safety hoses and diffusers for cooking paella on your home hob.

Types of gas paella burners

Classic butane and propane paella burners

Garcima's classic paella burners have a layer of vitrified porcelain enamel that protects them from wear and makes cleaning very simple: a damp cloth is enough once the burner has cooled down. Sizes range from 20, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, 55, 60 and 70 cm; those from 50 cm upwards have two independent burners, which lets you regulate the heat by zone. Their independent rings give even heat, with quick ignition and easy flame control via regulators.

Latest-generation flat paella burners

Flat-tube models feature an extra ring inside the first burner and gas outlets on both sides of the tube: they're more powerful, heat the paella pan faster and spread the flame more evenly than round-tube models. Available for butane and propane, as well as with a natural gas connection.

Natural gas paella burners

Made with a special threaded connection to comply with natural gas installation regulations. Each paella burner must only be used with the type of gas it was made for, so choose the butane/propane version or the natural gas version according to your installation.

Professional paella burners with thermocouple, suitable for indoor use

Professional paella burners with a thermocouple include a safety valve that automatically cuts off the gas if the flame goes out, and are approved for indoor use in accordance with the UNE EN 203-1 standard. The Flames VLC professional models range from 25 to 90 cm in diameter, with a 3-position tap and Minimum System for a very low minimum flame and total control over the heat.

Diffusers and hob burners

The Garcima hob diffuser burner, made of enamelled iron and available in 20 and 25 cm, fits onto your gas hob by removing the burner cap and adjusting the legs, and is operated using the hob's own controls. The Flames diffuser, 25 cm, works with paella pans from 30 to 46 cm: ideal for rice dishes and fideuà without leaving the kitchen.

Industrial burners

For large quantities there are industrial double-chamber burners with a thermocouple on each inlet: the M series reaches 31 kW and takes pots from 60 to 90 cm (200-500 litres), and the O-900 and O-1200 models, with 3 and 4 rings, reach up to 97.1 kW with paella pans up to 2 metres and pots up to 1,500 litres. Approved and certified.

Advantages of cooking paella with gas

Compared with wood or charcoal, a gas paella burner gives even heat and immediate temperature control, with quick, safe ignition. It's portable, takes many paella pan sizes and is cleaner: it doesn't produce ash or excessive smoke, and maintenance is as simple as wiping it down. What's more, its low consumption gives you many hours of cooking time.

Accessories for paella burners

Complete your set-up with the adjustable legs kit (67.5 cm long, leaving the burner at 72 cm from the ground), the reinforced steel tripods (74.5 cm tall, burner at 81 cm), the modular windbreak in galvanised steel to shield the flame outdoors, the metal hose with a 360° swivel elbow and safety valve compliant with UNE-EN 14800 (in 1 and 1.5 metre lengths) for natural gas, and connections adapted to other countries' gas regulations. You'll find the matching paella pan in paella pans, complete packs in paella burner and pan kits and more outdoor cooking in barbecues.

Frequently asked questions about paella burners

What size paella burner do I need for my paella pan?

The burner should be proportional to the base of the paella pan so the heat reaches the whole surface. Garcima's classic paella burners range from 20 to 70 cm and, from 50 cm upwards, have two independent burners. The 25 cm hob diffusers work with paella pans from 30 to 46 cm.

Can I use a butane paella burner with natural gas?

No. Each paella burner leaves the factory set up for one type of gas, and natural gas models have a specific threaded connection in line with installation regulations. Choose the butane/propane version or the natural gas version when buying.

Can a gas paella burner be used indoors?

Only approved models with a thermocouple valve, which automatically cuts off the gas if the flame goes out, such as Garcima's professional models under the UNE EN 203-1 standard or the Flames VLC professional models. Paella burners without a thermocouple are for outdoor use only.

How do you clean a gas paella burner?

With a damp cloth once the burner has cooled down: the vitrified enamel protects the paella burner from corrosion and stops dirt from sticking. Unlike wood or charcoal, it leaves no ash.

What accessories do I need to use the paella burner in the garden or on the terrace?

Adjustable legs (67.5 cm, burner at 72 cm from the base) or a reinforced tripod (74.5 cm, burner at 81 cm), a gas hose with a safety valve and, if it's windy, a modular windbreak in galvanised steel to protect the flame.
