Metal baking tins

Metal baking tins are oven tins made from tinplate, steel or aluminium that conduct heat quickly and evenly, ideal for baking all kinds of sponge cakes, tarts, pastries and breads. Their good heat transfer promotes even browning and precise baking, which is why they're preferred in both the home kitchen and professional baking and patisserie. In our range you'll find metal tins in different shapes, sizes and finishes for every creation.

Springform tins

With a removable base and side clip, springform tins let you release cheesecakes and tall sponge cakes without breaking them. They're the best option for delicate creations that shouldn't be turned out.

Round, square and rectangular tins

The classic formats for sponge cakes and tarts. Rectangular loaf tins are perfect for loaf cakes and sweet breads, while round and square tins are used for tarts and layer cakes.

Fluted moulds, crème caramel moulds and tartlet tins

Fluted and savarin moulds give decorative shapes to sponge cakes and ring cakes; crème caramel moulds and tartlet tins, individual or multi-cavity, are used for crème caramels, quiches, tartlets and individual portions.

Rings, pastry cutters and baking tins

Plating and pastry rings help you build and bake bases and mousses in a perfect shape, and metal pastry cutters are used for biscuits and decorations. All of them withstand the high temperatures of the oven.

Materials: tinplate, steel, aluminium and non-stick

Tinplate is light and transfers heat very well, ideal for even baking. Steel provides strength and durability. Aluminium is light and an excellent heat conductor. Models with a non-stick coating make turning out and cleaning easier. In all cases it's best to dry them well after washing to prevent rust.

Frequently asked questions about metal baking tins

What materials are used in metal baking tins?

Metal tins are made mainly from tinplate, steel, aluminium and versions with a non-stick coating. Tinplate and aluminium transfer heat very well for even baking, steel provides strength and non-stick models make turning out sponge cakes and tarts easier.

Do you need to grease metal tins before using them?

Yes, except for non-stick tins. With tinplate, steel or aluminium tins it's best to grease and flour them so the batter doesn't stick. With non-stick tins a thin layer of fat is enough or, depending on the recipe, you can use them as they are.

Can metal tins be washed in the dishwasher?

It's better to wash them by hand and dry them well. The dishwasher can damage the non-stick coating over time and encourage rusting of the tinplate. Drying them thoroughly after each wash greatly extends the life of the tin.

Which metal tin should I choose for a cheesecake?

The most practical option is a round springform tin, with a removable base and side clip, because it lets you release cheesecakes and delicate sponge cakes without breaking them.

Are metal tins suitable for the oven?

Yes, metal tins are designed to withstand the high temperatures of a traditional oven. They aren't suitable for the microwave, as metal should not be placed in this type of appliance.
