It's very dangerous to use a paella burner with a gas other than the one it was designed for. They can't be converted — you'd need to buy a paella burner compatible with the gas you're going to use.

The problem with automatic-ignition hobs isn't the automatic ignition itself, but that automatic-ignition hobs usually also have a thermocouple valve. Hello José, they can be for butane/propane gas, or for natural gas. The butane/propane ones use a hose connected to the gas bottle, and the natural gas ones use a hose connected to a natural gas outlet you have at home. As for size, if the base is 30 cm, a standard 20 cm paella burner will do; if you use the hob-top diffuser, the 25 cm one is better. Best wishes.

A 40 cm one wouldn't work, as the gas that a hob's burners release is designed for small flames, and a 40 cm paella burner uses much more gas, so there wouldn't be enough flame. If you need a 40 cm diffuser, we recommend the usual paella burners, which you can find in this same online shop. The Garcima paella heat diffuser for the hob lets you cook your paella directly on your gas hob, spreading the heat evenly across the whole base of the paella pan. It adapts easily to butane, propane or natural gas hobs: simply remove the burner from the main ring and adjust the legs to the right height to keep the paella pan stable.

How to fit it

Remove the burner from the main ring of your hob, place the heat diffuser on top and adjust the legs until it sits level. From there, you light it and control the heat with the hob dial just as you normally would. When you have finished, the enamel makes it easy to wipe clean with a damp cloth.

Important notice

This diffuser is not compatible with gas hobs fitted with a thermocouple flame-failure safety device (those that cut off the gas supply if they do not detect a flame at the burner). When you remove the burner and place the diffuser on top, the thermocouple does not detect the flame and the hob shuts off the gas. Check whether your hob has this system before buying.

The butane/propane ones use a hose connected to the gas bottle, and the natural gas ones use a hose connected to a natural gas outlet you have at home. As for size, if the base is 30 cm, a standard 20 cm paella burner will do; if you use the hob-top diffuser, the 25 cm one is better. Best wishes.

A 40 cm one wouldn't work, as the gas that a hob's burners release is designed for small flames, and a 40 cm paella burner uses much more gas, so there wouldn't be enough flame. If you need a 40 cm diffuser, we recommend the usual paella burners, which you can find in this same online shop.
