Ibili manual garlic chopper shaped like a head of garlic: peeled cloves are chopped by twisting the lid and the base in opposite directions, and the button on the base ejects the chopped garlic cleanly. Magnetic closure, ridged non-slip grip and dishwasher-safe.
Description
The Ibili garlic chopper is a hand-operated tool shaped like a head of garlic that chops peeled cloves in seconds: load them inside, twist the lid and the base in opposite directions and the blades inside cut up the garlic without you ever touching the food or the blade. It measures 8 x 7 cm (model 726700), has a magnetic closure and a button on the base that ejects the chopped garlic in one go, cleanly and with nothing stuck to your fingers. It is dishwasher-safe and covered by a 3-year guarantee from Ibili.
The mechanism is a small 'case' with a magnetic closure: pop in the peeled garlic cloves, close it and twist the lid and the base in opposite directions. You decide how finely it chops: one or two twists give you coarse pieces for sautés and stews, and the more twists you give it, the finer the garlic becomes, right down to a fine mince for dressings, mayonnaise or marinades. When you have finished, press the button on the base and the chopped garlic comes out cleanly and easily, with no scraping it out with a finger or a teaspoon.
Because the garlic is chopped inside the closed tool, your hands never come into contact with the cut clove, which is what leaves that lingering smell on the skin. The outer surface reproduces the ridges of a real head of garlic: as well as looking charming, that texture acts as a non-slip grip and lets you twist firmly without it slipping out of your hands, even when wet.
Cleaning is quick under the tap, and it can also go in the dishwasher. Its materials are food-safe in line with current legislation, like all the kitchen utensils from the Gipuzkoa-based firm Ibili.

Put the peeled garlic cloves inside, close it (the closure is magnetic) and twist the lid and the base in opposite directions. The button on the base then ejects the chopped garlic.
Both: the coarseness depends on the number of twists. A few twists leave the garlic in pieces; keep twisting and it gets finer and finer.
Yes. Simply rinsing it under running water straight after use is also enough.
Yes, because the clove is chopped inside the closed tool and you only touch it when loading it peeled; the cut garlic, which is what releases the smell, never comes into contact with your skin.
Before chopping, the Ibili silicone garlic peeler leaves the cloves clean in seconds, and if you prefer a very fine garlic paste you can opt for the Microplane garlic grater. To keep whole heads fresh for longer there is the Joie garlic keeper, plus many more tools in our peelers, graters and choppers section and in the full Ibili range.
