Description
The Ibili plunger coffee maker — also known as a French press or cafetiere — is made from borosilicate glass, a glass designed to cope well with heat and to last. It includes an anti-corrosion stainless steel plunger that filters the drink as you press it down. It is a simple, clean way to brew coffee or tea by infusion, with no electricity, no capsules and no need to put it on the heat.
You add coarsely ground coffee (or tea leaves) to the jug, pour in hot water, let it steep for a few minutes and lower the plunger slowly: the filter separates the grounds and leaves the drink ready to serve. It is a method that respects the oils and aroma of the coffee, much appreciated by anyone after a full-bodied cup.
The 0.35 litre is ideal for one or two cups; the 0.6 and 1 litre are for brewing more in one go.
It does not go on the heat or the hob: you simply pour hot water inside. After using it, take the plunger apart, remove the grounds and rinse it; the borosilicate glass and stainless steel clean easily. Handle the glass jug with care to avoid knocks.
