Description
The Bahía by Ibili in aluminium finish is the classic cast-aluminium moka pot of a lifetime: the one that has been brewing espresso in Spanish homes for decades. Available in five sizes from 3 to 14 cups (150 to 700 ml), suitable for ceramic, electric and gas hobs (not induction), with a handle and knob that insulate from the heat. It is the polished-aluminium version of the same series as the lacquered Bahía Red and Black that we also sell.

Select the size in the drop-down; the reference and capacity correspond to the model chosen. The 14-cup size (700 ml) is one of the largest made in domestic moka pots: ideal for large gatherings and light catering.
Like every moka pot, the Bahía works by steam pressure: fill the base with water up to the level of the valve, put medium-ground coffee in the funnel without tamping it, screw it together well and bring it to medium-low heat. The advice we always repeat in the shop: take it off the heat as soon as the coffee starts to gurgle — letting it boil burns the coffee and is the number-one cause of bitter mokas. Aluminium, a great conductor, extracts a dense espresso in just a few minutes.
The "cups" of a moka are espresso cups (about 50 ml). For 1-2 people, the 3-cup; for the everyday of a coffee-loving home, the 6-cup; for frequent visitors, the 9- or the 12-cup; and the 14-cup (700 ml) for large family gatherings, offices or a small catering business.
Ibili has been making kitchenware in Bergara (Basque Country) for generations. At Hiperchef, where we have been selling kitchenware since 1977, we carry the whole Bahía series with its original spare parts: gaskets with filter, funnels and handles for the Bahía and Elba coffee makers. A moka with spare parts lasts decades.
