Speciarium

Every self-respecting cook has jars of spices on their shelves. Often we don't know much about them, and yet a small touch of spice can lift our everyday dishes to a whole new level. Speciarium is a practical resource for cooks that will also change the way we understand the role of spices in our food and our history.

The work of Owen Jones, one of the pioneers of international design, has inspired the illustrations that accompany each of the sixty spices from around the world featured in the book.

Caz Hildebrand is a creative and designer at the prestigious Here Design studio. She has won awards for designing cookery books such as those by Nigella Lawson, Yotam Ottolenghi and Sam and Sam Clark of Moro. As well as Herbarium and Speciarium, she is co-author of The Geometry of Pasta.
