Arilex's 3PVBOLSA volcanic stone bag is the official refill for gas barbecues and Basque grills in the Línea 600 range. It is natural, non-combustible and refractory volcanic stone, selected and graded to spread heat evenly beneath the grill, catching the fat and giving the characteristic aroma of chargrilled cooking.

Each bag contains 3 kg of stone, an amount designed to top up the barbecue cleanly and without waste. It is an essential consumable in venues that chargrill daily and makes the difference between a grill with even performance and one with cold spots or loss of aroma.

Recommended use

Spread the volcanic stone evenly across the tray beneath the grill, covering the whole working surface. It is important to spread the stone in a single, even layer, without packing it down or leaving gaps: only then does the heat rise evenly and dead zones on the grill are avoided. Once in place and with the gas on, it takes a few minutes to reach the optimum service temperature.

During use the stone gradually catches the fat that drips from the grill. This is normal and contributes to the characteristic chargrilled aroma. When the stone shows clear fat saturation or loses its ability to spread heat, it should be replaced with fresh stone to keep the equipment performing.

Replacement frequency

In intensive professional use (chargrill restaurants with daily service) replacement is usually every 6 to 12 months, depending on volume. In more occasional use (seasonal beach bar, catering) the stone can last one or several seasons. The important thing is to inspect it visually before each busy season: if the stone is very darkened, packed down or broken, it is time to change it.

Maintenance

We do not recommend "washing" the volcanic stone to reuse it: water can get into the pores and, when heated, burst out in small explosions. Volcanic stone is a consumable: when it loses performance, replace it. The removed stone can be discarded as non-hazardous waste following your local rules for catering waste collection.
