Description
The new cooking system of the charcoal barbecue Char-Broil Performance 2600 uses a patented tray that makes temperature control easier, creating more efficient combustion and less heat loss. This system lets you achieve the cooking results you want without changing your grilling experience. The firebox is fitted with an external crank to adjust the height of the grill and control cooking more precisely. A side vent lets you control air circulation to optimise cooking at high temperatures over long periods. The tray is easily removed for cleaning.
What accessories does my barbecue need?
The barbecue comes with everything you need to use it straight away, and includes a manual in Spanish for quick and easy assembly, along with the guarantee and some maintenance tips. Even so, we recommend getting a few accessories that will help you use and look after the barbecue. You can find them all on our website.
Grill cleaning brush:
An essential accessory you should not be without. The grills on these barbecues are enamelled and should be kept clean and ready for next time. A grill cleaning brush is essential here; as the grills are enamelled, choose one whose bristles are not metal so as not to damage the enamel.
Charcoal starter:
This is an accessory that surprised us when we tried it: we lit the charcoal cleanly, far faster and more evenly than with other methods. It is simple to use: put wood wool or newspaper in the bottom, fill the tube with charcoal and place it on the grill. By convection, the hot air circulates from bottom to top and quickly lights all the charcoal. That said, use it with care because it gets very hot. The model we work with has 2 rotating wooden handles to prevent accidents when handling it.
Barbecue tongs:
There are models to suit every taste: clamp, scissor, flat-tipped, toothed, round... but whatever the model, we recommend choosing long ones, at least 30 or 35 cm. The coals reach temperatures above 200 °C and you will be glad not to have your hand close by when turning the food.
What maintenance does my Char-Broil barbecue need?
Char-Broil barbecues are hard-wearing and, with a little common-sense care, will last you many, many years.
Caring for the paint:
There is nothing you need to do, just use it properly. The barbecue is finished with a long-lasting, heat-resistant powder paint rated up to 400 °C. One mistake we have occasionally seen is filling the barbecue with more charcoal than needed and closing the lid to cook; in these cases the internal temperature soars past 400 °C, causing the paint to flake off as well as failing to cook the food properly. To cook with the lid closed you must keep a close eye on the temperature with just the right amount of coals, both to cook the food properly and to protect the barbecue; you will not always need to close the lid to cook, only to smoke food or for very specific tasks. In any case, if this happens to you, do not worry: a little fine sandpaper and a heat-resistant spray paint will quickly put it right.
The inside of the barbecue:
Applying a thin layer of oil to the inside of the barbecue will also help extend its life.
The charcoal tray:
It needs no extra maintenance; just bear in mind that ash residue can build up moisture, so it is best to empty it after each use and once you are sure the ashes are completely out.
Protecting the barbecue:
It is common sense that storing the barbecue outdoors exposes it to rain, wind, sun, damp and so on, so a cover to protect it from the elements is highly recommended.
As you can see, it needs no great care or effort, just a little common sense and looking after it as we all know how to.
Barbecue covers:
A cover is a necessary accessory if the barbecue is to be left outdoors; it protects against rain, sun, wind, frost and so on, and will help keep the barbecue going for many years.
