Lacor is a Spanish manufacturer of professional and domestic kitchenware founded in 1949 in Bergara, Gipuzkoa. Marcos Larrañaga Chinchurreta set up the company "Manufacturas Metálicas Marcos Larrañaga" in a small premises in the town centre. The "Lacor" trade name was created as a tribute to the couple formed by the founder and his wife, Casimira Cortabarría: Larrañaga + Cortabarría.

What began as the manufacture of aluminium household items —and even orthodontic material for companies in the Alto Deba— quickly moved towards the catering sector. In the 1960s, Lacor made the leap to stainless steel with a diffuser base, expanding its professional range and starting to export to France and Portugal. In the 1980s it became the first national manufacturer of large one-piece stainless steel kitchenware, which forced it to relocate and expand its facilities in Bergara.

Today, three generations on, Lacor is part of the Grupo Marcos Larrañaga (which has also included the Jay cutlery brand since 2024). It manufactures at its plants in Bergara and Culleredo (Spain), has a 30,000 m² logistics warehouse in Alegría-Dulantzi (Álava) with capacity for 42,000 pallets, and distributes through more than 3,200 distributors in 90 countries across the 5 continents.

Its catalogue exceeds 4,000 product codes organised into 7 major families: cookware and cooking (professional Chef Luxe, Chef Classic, Gastro and Garinox cookware sets; domestic Foodie, Caliza, TriChef and Ferrum), kitchen utensils, Jay cutlery, tableware, bakeware, catering and hospitality, and professional and domestic appliances. In addition to the cookware made in Spain, Lacor offers a very extensive catalogue of utensils and accessories made in both Europe and Asia.

Where does Lacor manufacture?

Lacor manufactures in Spain, at its facilities in Bergara (Gipuzkoa) and Culleredo. Production includes deep-drawing, impact-bonding, CNC spinning and robotised processes. Logistics are managed from its 30,000 m² warehouse in Alegría-Dulantzi (Álava), from where hundreds of orders are processed daily.

What guarantee do Lacor products have?

Lacor products have a 3-year guarantee. All their materials are PFOA- and BPA-free, and hold ISO 9001 quality management certification issued by TÜV Rheinland.

Is Lacor suitable for induction?

It depends on the line. The stainless steel cookware sets and frying pans (Chef Luxe, Chef Classic, Gastro, Garinox, Foodie, TriChef, Caliza, among others) are suitable for all heat sources, including induction. The pure aluminium lines are not compatible with induction unless they have a magnetic diffuser base. The Ferrum line (natural iron) is also suitable for induction.

What sets Lacor apart from other kitchenware brands?

Lacor is one of the few European manufacturers that covers the whole chain: it designs, manufactures and distributes from Spain. Its catalogue of more than 4,000 product codes ranges from professional cookware to appliances, taking in bakeware, tableware and catering equipment along the way. It is also committed to sustainability, with its own solar panels for energy self-sufficiency and the gradual elimination of plastic from its packaging.
