The party Flames T-460 paella burner kit brings together a two-ring 46 cm burner rated at 13.8 kW, a 65 cm enamelled Garcima paella pan, reinforced legs, windshield, 50 mbar gas kit and spatula. It is the size for get-togethers with friends and birthday lunches: 8 or 9 servings of thin-layer rice and up to 22 tasting portions, with power to spare so the rice boils evenly right across the pan.

The whole kit is made in Valencia: the burner, legs and windshield by Flames VLC (Alginet) and the pan and gas kit by Garcima. We have been selling paella burners in Valencia since 1977 and we have sized the set so that the flame covers the diameter of the pan, which is what decides whether the rice cooks the same in the centre and at the edge.

Who is the T-460 kit for?

For gatherings of friends, birthdays and meals for 8 to 10 people. The 65 cm pan still fits on a terrace table and travels well; the 46 cm two-ring burner heats evenly right to the edge, which is where small burners with large pans usually fall short.

How many servings does this kit give?

With the 65 cm pan you get 8 or 9 servings of thin-layer rice, which is how paella is served in Valencia, or up to 22 tasting portions as part of a menu. The T-460 burner also takes pans of other sizes, so you can extend the kit later without changing the burner.

Which gas bottle and which gas do I need?

The T-460 burner runs on bottled butane or propane (29/37 mbar). The kit includes a 50 mbar regulator, the approved hose and the clamps: you only have to connect the bottle. For natural gas, contact us before buying.

Do you want it for another country?

If you are going to use the kit outside Spain, the burner is built specifically for your country: Flames prepares it with the gas connection approved at destination and with the manual and labels in your language (French, German or English depending on the country). To order it we need two details: the country of use and the type of gas (bottled butane/propane or natural gas; in Germany and Austria always propane at 50 mbar). This made-to-order build adds a few days to the delivery time. Please note that on orders shipped outside Spain the gas kit (hose, clamps and regulator) is not included, because the regulator and hose depend on each country's regulations; the rest of the kit is shipped complete. Flames or Garcima? Differences from the equivalent kit

Compared with the 40 cm flat Garcima kit (65 cm pan), the T-460 has more power (13.8 kW) and concentric rings that spread the heat better at the edge. Both are Valencian manufacturers with a 3-year guarantee; the choice depends on the type of flame you prefer: 2 independent concentric rings on Flames, burners in a line on Garcima. Shop tip for this size

With a 65 cm pan the heat has to be even: light both rings when you add the stock and turn the pan a quarter turn halfway through if you notice one side boiling harder. The enamelled pan needs no seasoning, but dry it after washing so the enamel does not suffer at the edges.

Caring for the enamelled pan

The enamelled Garcima pan needs no seasoning or oiling: wash it with water and soap, dry it and put it away. Avoid knocks on the rim (the enamel can chip) and do not leave it empty on the flame at full power. The Flames burner is steel with a heat-resistant finish; clean it cold with a brush and store it dry.
