Description
The Garcima professional flat paella gas burner is a paella burner with a thermocouple safety valve, available in six diameters from 20 to 70 cm and approved for butane, propane and natural gas. Unlike classic round-tube paella burners, its flat tubes add an extra burner on the inner ring and gas outlets on both sides, which spreads the flame more evenly and gives more power. It complies with the European standards UNE EN 203-1 and EN 203-1/A1 for indoor use, making it the paella burner of choice for restaurants and rice houses.
Gas connections vary from country to country: if your country does not share the Spanish connection, the burner is manufactured to order with the connection for your destination country, which takes around 10 days. Some countries do share the Spanish connection, in which case shipping is immediate subject to stock.
Unlike the classic round-tube models, these latest-generation professional flat paella burners have an extra burner on the inner ring. The gas outlets on both sides of the tube make it a more powerful burner and give you greater control while cooking: it spreads the flames across the paella pan more evenly and heats it up faster, so you can better manage the different cooking times of the rice, the sofrito and the socarrat.
They have a vitrified enamel coating that ensures easy maintenance and a long service life with little care. The 60 and 70 cm diameter models include a reinforced set of legs to support large-format paella pans.
The thermocouple safety valve stops the gas flow if it detects that there is no combustion at the burners: if a draught blows out the flame, the gas supply cuts off by itself. Thanks to it, these paella burners are approved under the European standards UNE EN 203-1 and EN 203-1/A1 for indoor use, and also comply with the European safety and quality directives 90/396/EEC applicable to gas appliances. If you cook outdoors in windy conditions, you can pair it with a modular windshield for paella burners.
It runs on butane and propane, but can also be supplied ready for natural gas: state the gas type and destination country on your order and we will supply it with the correct injector.
The practical rule is that the paella pan should overhang the burner on both sides without leaving any rings uncovered. Each diameter takes a wide range of paella pans, because the rings light independently according to the size of the paella you are making that day:
| Diameter | No. of rings | Small | Medium | Large | Reference | Recommended paella pans |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 20 cm | 2 rings | 8 and 20 cm | - | - | 8412595763208 | 30 · 32 · 34 · 36 · 38 · 40 cm |

Sizes not shown in the list fall in the gap between the burner rings and are not recommended by the manufacturer.
With natural gas it is best to choose a smaller pan than the one shown in this table, because the burner delivers less power than with butane or propane.
The recommended paella pan sizes are approximate: other sizes can be used. If you are looking for a matching pan, the Garcima polished Valencian paella pan is the classic companion, and in the paella burner and pan kits you will find sets that are already matched.
They are made by Garcima, a prestigious Valencian manufacturer of paella pans, paella burners and other traditional utensils, recognised worldwide.
Yes. Thanks to the thermocouple safety valve it is approved under the European standards UNE EN 203-1 and EN 203-1/A1 for indoor use, something that paella burners without a thermocouple do not meet.
It is a safety device that automatically cuts off the gas supply if it detects that there is no combustion at the burners, for example if the wind blows out the flame.
All three. As standard it runs on butane and propane; if you need it for natural gas, state this on your order along with the destination country.
Check the sizing table: for example, the 40 cm model with 3 rings takes paella pans from 28 to 70 cm, and the 70 cm model with 4 rings goes up to 100 cm pans.
